Wooden Boats in Italy, which built its first Limo Tender 27 in 2020, has just launched the second Limo Tender 27 as a customized package for the owner of a 170-foot Sanlorenzo.

“This second Limo Tender 27 shares with the first only the hull lines and the construction technology,” company founder Marco Arnaboldi stated in a press release. “Everything else is totally customized to meet the requests of an owner who had very clear ideas and who received from us equally precise answers, down to the smallest detail. So speaking of a second model is not in fact accurate; each Limo Tender 27 is born with its own distinct personality, to best adapt to the owner’s requests and, consequently, to the style of the yacht it will be stowed in.”

The boat has seating for 12 guests, along with a fold-down transom that becomes a swim platform. Top speed is reportedly 37 knots, with a recommended cruising speed around 30 knots. Power is a 270 hp Mercury diesel.

“Everything was created in the Wooden Boats shipyard according to the owner’s requests, from the construction of the hull to the interior furnishings, up to the individual armrests of the seats, obviously based on our original designs,” Arnaboldi stated.

Grand Craft, which has been launching boats in Michigan and Wisconsin for more than 40 years, is taking orders now for July 2023 delivery dates on the 26-foot Grand Craft Burnham mahogany runabout.

The Burnham has an Ilmor 6.2-liter, 430-horsepower engine; handcrafted teak soles; and hand-stitched upholstery. More than 3,000 work-hours go into creating each boat.

Construction is with solid mahogany frames and planking using the West Epoxy Saturation Technique. Awlgrip is used in the finishing for low maintenance, and improved resistance to sun and salt.

Standard features include hydraulic steering, a chrome exhaust tube and a bow thruster. Options include a navigation system and custom interior.

Wooden Boats in Viareggio, Italy, has announced the WB14 Limousine Tender, a 46-foot custom design for a superyacht now under construction in Italy as well.

The WB14 is built of carbon fiber with vacuum resin infusion. Total weight is just over 7 tons, and top speed with 370-horsepower engines is 40 knots, according to the builder. Cruising speed is reportedly 34 knots, with a range of 200 nautical miles.

Giorgio Cassetta did the interior and exterior design, with the forward helm station and aft guest cockpit inspired by Venetian water taxis. There’s additional seating inside for 14 guests in an air-conditioned space filled with teak and leather.

For onboard stowage, the entire superstructure lowers to fit in a garage less than 7 feet high.

This tender is ready for the Covid-19 pandemic: Proteasrl designed an ozone system that automatically sanitizes the tender after each use.

Wooden Boats—an Italian yard established in 2012 that has built 18 custom tenders for Benetti, Pershing, Sanlorenzo, Baglietto and more—has introduced a day boat of its own, the WB40 Classic.

The WB40 design evolved out of a request from an individual owner with specific criteria.

“He wanted a custom boat with classic lines that was lightweight to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption, required low maintenance and had minimal environmental impact in case of demolition,” Marco Arnaboldi, the founder of Wooden Boats, stated in a press release. “Building in wood and carbon fiber meant we could meet all of his needs.”

The WB40’s hull and deck are made of sandwiched layers of multidirectional mahogany plywood and pre-preg carbon fiber, using the epoxy vacuum method. The hull is a deep-V design, and propulsion is water jets.

On board, there’s space for 14 people. A sun pad is atop the deckhouse, the adjustable table in the cockpit can convert to another sun bed, and a third sunning area is atop the engine compartment aft.

The helm station is raised, to provide visibility for the skipper above all those spaces. Abaft the helm is a meal-prep area with a two-burner cooktop and a refrigerator. A Bimini top can shield this area from the sun. Below is a cabin with a double berth and head.

Top speed is 40 knots, and cruising speed is 36 knots, with twin 420-horsepower Yanmars, according to the builder.

Is a hard top available for the WB40? Yes. Owners also can opt for a carbon-fiber hull with fold-down bulwarks that increase the swim platform’s size.
